The 67th National Film Awards are taking place in Delhi today(October 25). The celebrations are being held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. South megastar Rajinikanth is being conferred the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award. The Honorable Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu gave away the prestigious Awards.

Actress Kangana Ranaut wins the best actress award for her films Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Panga. Manoj Bajpayee is awarded the best actor for Bhonsle. South star Dhanush is being awarded the best actor for Tamil movie Asuran. Sushant Singh Rajput’s last theatrical release Chhichhore wins the best Hindi film award. Asuran wins for best Tamil film and Jersey wins for best Telugu film.

Kangana Ranaut dazzled in a beautiful saree. This will be her fourth National Award. Dhanush and Rajinikanth were seen in their traditional white attires.

Established in 1954, the National Film Awards is the most prominent award ceremony for films in India. The event is organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals. It comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This year’s awards are honouring outstanding performances from the year 2019. Pictures and videos from the ceremony are viral on the internet.
