Ranveer Singh and his team are presently in England all geared up for the first schedule of ’83’. Director Kabir Khan’s sports drama is based on the life of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The ‘Padmaavat’ star after undergoing training had spent some time with the cricketer at his home. He is at present in London shooting for the same. He is joined by his wife Deepika Padukone who will be playing his onscreen wife.
Deepika Padukone after wrapping the schedule of ‘Chhapaak’ jetted off to London. Hubby Ranveer Singh posted a series of pictures on social media wherein we have Deepika Padukone and director Kabir Khan posing with on-screen Kapil Dev and alongside the picture, Ranveer writes, “drum roll* All smiles as All-star @deepikapadukone joins the #83squad !!! @83thefilm @kabirkhankk.”
He further tweeted, “Who better to play My Wifey than My Wifey?! @deepikapadukone plays Romi Dev in @83thefilm !!! Genius casting courtesy @kabirkhankk #83squad.”
Deepika Padukone is playing the role of Romi Dev aka Kapil Dev’s wife in the film.
’83’, the film is a sports drama based on India’s historic win against West Indies at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Besides Ranveer Singh, the film also features Saqib Saleem, R Badree, Harrdy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar as members of the World Cup squad.
’83’ will be releasing in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu in theatres on April 10, 2020.
