Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria visited Ladakh for two days. He is here to review the preparations of the IAF. This visit came after India-China Face-Off in the Galwan valley. The clash led to the demise of 20 Indian troops and many more injured.
Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria had earlier in the day said the country will always strive towards maintaining peace and the “sacrifice” at Galwan Valley “will not go in vain”
ANI quoted government sources as saying, “The Air Force chief was on a two-day visit where he checked the operational readiness of all the platforms that have been moved to the area in view of the Chinese aggression along the LAC in the Eastern Ladakh where more than 10,000 troops have been amassed by China.”
The Indian Air Force has put all its frontline bases along the 3,500-km de-facto border with China on high alert. IAF fighter jets and attack helicopters were also spotted over Leh. The IAF has also deployed its newest AH-64E Apache “tank buster” attack helicopters in Ladakh. Amidst the India-China border tension, the IAF plans to order and induct 33 fighters – 12 Sukhoi Su-30 MKIs and 21 MiG-29s – from Russia. Russia is also ready to deliver the fighter jets to India as soon as possible.
