Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar lately announced his next venture as a presenter which stars actress Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. The film is titled Durgavati and is a thriller. Apparently, the film will go on floors by January. The director of the film will be Ashok.
Meanwhile, it is not clear whether or not Durgavati is a remake of Telugu film Bhaagmathie which originally featured Anushka Shetty, Unni Mukundan, Jayaram, Usha Sarath, Vidyulekha Raman in pivotal roles. Akshay Kumar took to twitter to share picture of Bhumi Pednekar surrounded by all producers and presenters of the film.
He tweeted, “EXCITED to announce @bhumipednekar in & as #DURGAVATI. A scary-thriller, going on floor mid-January. Presented by #CapeOfGoodFilms and @itsBhushanKumar , produced by @vikramix and directed by Ashok. Need your love and luck @TSeries @Abundantia_Ent.” check out the tweet below.
In the picture, Bhumi Pednekar can be seen dressed in a sari on a chair while all the men surround her. To thank Akshay, Bhumi also took to twitter by sharing the same picture.
She wrote, “I have waited so long to share this one with you. So excited to announce my next film #DURGAVATI. A scary-thriller going on floor mid-January. Thank you @akshaykumar sir for your constant belief in me. I am so excited for this one @itsBhushanKumar @vikramix.”
On work front, Bhumi Pednekar was last seen in Saand Ki Aankh alongside Taapsee Pannu. The actress is currently gearing up for the release of Pati Patni Aur Woh alongside Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday.
