Revealed: Aquaman 2 Is Titled Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom

Aquaman 2 now has a title: it’s called Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Director James Wan took to Instagram to share the official title of the Jason Momoa film. Director James Wan shared two photos on Instagram. One of the pictures was of his laptop at an Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom production meeting. The other was of himself with the laptop screen mirrored onto a TV. In both the pictures, the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom title is visible.

The caption read, “The tide is rising.”

Aquaman that hit the screen in 2018 was a massive hit and became DCEU’s biggest success. The Jason Momoa starre grossed over $1.13 billion at the worldwide box office. Though not much is known about the Aquaman 2, but the title reveals that it could be based on the seven kingdoms of Atlantis. Last year at the DC FanDome panel, Wan had teased that Aquaman 2 would have a darker tone.

Aquaman 2 will have Jason Momoa, reprising his role as Aquaman/Arthur Curry. Amber Heard will also be seen reprising her role in the film despite protests to remove her. Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul Mateen II will also be back. Game of Thrones’ Pilou Asbæk is the new joinee.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is slated to open on December 16, 2022, in cinemas worldwide.
