Stree Box office report: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao’s films starts with a positive note

This Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film, Stree has surpassed the expectations and has opened at Rs 6.82 crore at the box office

The horror comedy Stree, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao had a decent opening. It has amassed Rs 6.50-6.75 crore net on day one. This is slightly better as compared to the super hit film of 2018 Sonu Ke Tito Ki Sweety.

Most of the critics have given a positive review for the movie. Given this, the movie is likely to accelerate during the weekend.  The positive critical review will also help in generating good word of mouth for the film.

Also, the genre of the movie has helped in making it a relative matter for the common people. The film is fast catching up in semi metros like Lucknow, Jaipur, Surat, etc.

The other movie released along with Stree is Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, which stars Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

Taran Adarsh tweeted, “When numbers do the talking… #Stree surpasses the expectations and estimations and posts a SUPERB number on Day 1… Biz is expected to multiply over the weekend… Fri  Rs 6.82 cr. India biz… Hugely positive word of mouth has translated into BO numbers.”

 

Stree’s opening box office collection is the 12th highest of the year. Whereas Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir se had a poor opening and generated Rs 1.50 -1.75 crore.
