Farhan Akhtar, Taapsee Pannu and others laud Jaya Bachchan’s ‘defaming film industry’ speech

On the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament, the Samajwadi Party MP and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan took a dig at Ravi Kishan’s comment about drug addiction in Bollywood, she also said that just because there are a few people, one cannot tarnish the image of the entire film industry. She added, “People who have made their name in Bollywood, called it a gutter. It’s a shame.”

Now, Bollywood celebrities, like, Taapsee Pannu, Sonam Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar took to their Twitter handle and extended their support to Jaya Bachchan’s parliament speech as she stood up for the film industry.

Richa Chadha:  “Mrs. Jaya Bachchan started her career with legend Satyajit Ray and then went on to redefine Hindi cinema. Watch this to see the face of fearlessness. The ‘agents’ and khurchans participating in the deliberate vilification of Bollywood will self-destruct like bhasmasurs. #respect”

Sonam Kapoor: “I want to be her when I grow up..”

Taapsee Pannu: “For we have always stood by the initiatives, causes and awareness campaigns. It’s time for payback. Hitting the nail on its head and how ! 👏🏼 yet again a woman from the industry spoke up 🙏🏼 #Respect”

Anubhav Sinha: “I send my best regards to Jaya Ji. See those who don’t know. This is how the spine looks.”

Farhan Akhtar: “🙏🏽 Respect. She has always stood up to be counted when it mattered. #JayaBachchan”

The discussion came after the ongoing Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) probe linked to the actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
