Coronavirus Update: Covid-19 Virus Reaches Every Continent Making Antarctica Last Touched

The pandemic Coronavirus outspread has brought everything to standstill and nations across the globe have been following strict lockdown impositions. To worsen the situations recently new strain of COVID-19 virus was reported in the UK and few other regions. According to the latest reports the deadly virus has now reached every corner of the globe except making Antarctica to be the last one touched.

As per the latest reports around 58 people at two military bases in Antarctica or on a navy ship that had gone to the continent were tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. Authorities from Chilean have made the announcement of this outspread.

On December 21, Chile’s army announced that 36 people at the Gen. Bernardo O’Higgins Riquelme Antarctic base had tested positive. Of these, 26 members were from the military and 10 were civilian employees of a maintenance contract company. The statement reveals that none so far had shown complications.

So far no other confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported from Antarctica. This makes the continent to be the last touched continent by the deadly virus.
