Coronavirus Update: Section 144 To Be Imposed In Mumbai City To Restrict Outspread

The pandemic Coronavirus has been spreading its wings globally and the COVID-19 positive cases were seen raising in numbers of late. India, which has been in the second position in the list of worst-hit nations by the pandemic, recently marked 50 lakhs count to have reported infected cases since February. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi and few other states have reports a strike in the spreading. Amidst the rising number of cases, Mumbai to now again impose section 144 to restrict people’s movement and more spreading.

A recent report by CNBC quoted the states orders, as “All movement of one or more persons in the areas designated as ‘Containment Zones’ by the Municipal Authorities is prohibited, except for essential activities, supply of essential goods and medical emergencies.”

Mumbai city continues to be threatened with the spread of COVID-19, it is considered expedient to issue prohibitory order for restricting any presence or movement of one or more persons in public places or gathering of any sort anywhere, including religious places,” states the media reports. As reported by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai has reported approximately 1,75,886 COVID-19 cases with a single-day raise of 2,300 cases.

Food, vegetables, ration, milk booth, hospital, medicine, pharma, pathology laboratories, medical nursing colleges and more to remain open.
