David Dhawan Opens Up On Directing Son Varun’s Kissing Scene In ‘Coolie No. 1’

Bollywood handsome hunk, Varun Dhawan recently released his comedy film, ‘Coolie No. 1’, which also featured Sara Ali Khan in the key role. The film was helmed by Varun’s father, David and he spills the beans on directing his son. The director comments on the kissing scenes, which are inescapable requirement in the movies and he reveals that he doesn’t shy away from including them in his films.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, David Dhawan stated that it is not a difficult task as they had a professional attitude while filming the romantic scenes. “There was nothing difficult about it because we are very professional people. When I am shooting with him, I don’t look at him or ask him whether we should do this or not. I tell him that this is to be done. The script demands a kissing scene and so we have to do it. Practically, there is nothing wrong. Kissing scene is the lightest scene in the Indian films these days. It’s very fair when you are doing it professionally, you don’t look left, right, centre. ‘Arre yaar mera beta karra hai, sharam aarai hai. Kaae ki sharam aarai hai? (Oh no, my son is doing it, I feel so embarrassed. What are you embarrassed about?) There is no such thing. It’s all practical today. Now how the hero and the heroine do it is up to them.”

The father and son duo surely shell out major professional goals. Both of them have worked together for films such as ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Judwaa 2’.

Talking about ‘Coolie No.1’, it is the remake of Govinda-Karisma starrer which was titled the same. The recently released also featured Paresh Rawal, Jonny Lever and Rampal Yadav in the key roles. While the peppy songs created quite a buzz,  the film went to bag negative reviews from the critics across.
