Delhi Police To Take Strict Legal Action Against Violent Farmer Protestors On Republic Day

On the 72nd Republic Day of India, Delhi witnessed a massive violence and disruption caused by the farmers who were protesting outside the red fort and in few other regions. Apparently the farmers initially wanted their tractor rally to be a peaceful protest, however, it turned into a violent clash with the Police officials. Several tractor drivers were caught on camera trying to run over the vehicle through police officials and they also vandalised public property. Aggressive farmer protestors also bashed police officials. Following this disruption, Delhi Police to now take a legal action against violent protestors.

Delhi police claimed that the farmers who were protesting have violated their pre-agreed conditions for their tractor rally. The farmers caused the violence and vandalised properties in Delhi on Republic Day. The sudden eruption of violent activities left many police officials including commoners injured. Delhi Police apparently stated that the rally was started much earlier than the decided time and they also damaged public property. As per a latest tweet post by ANI, Delhi Police has already registered 22 FIRs against people in connection with the violence during farmers’ tractor rally.

The farmers protest in India begun from the month of November last year. The protest commenced post the center introduced its newly form Farm Bill, which has spread the fear among the farmers of commercials farming.
