Delhi Policewoman traces 76 missing kids in 3 months; awarded promotion

Delhi Police’s Seema Dhaka has traced 76 missing children in three months. She has been awarded for her feat by the Delhi Police. Seema is awarded the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector by Police Commissioner. This has been done under a new initiative that promises promotion on tracing missing children.

Seema Dhaka is the first police personnel who has been given the out-of-turn promotion under the incentive scheme. Dhaka is currently posted at Samaypur Badli police station of the outer-north district.

Dhaka has rescued two children from West Bengal, two from Hoshiarpur district of Punjab and several from Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Noida, Panipat and Bihar, etc.

On August 7 Delhi Police Commissioner S N Shrivastava had announced the grant of additional incentives. These included an out-of-turn promotion, for any constable or head constable who rescues 50 or more missing children.  below the age of 14 years within a period of 12 months. At least 15 of the children should be aged less than eight years. The initiative has been launched to encourage efforts to trace missing children.

The Delhi police have traced 1,440 missing children since August 7. Around 1,222 were reported disappeared during this time.
