‘Dhadak’ is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Shashank Khaitan and starring Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. The film is produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, and is a remake of the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat. It is scheduled for release on 20 July 2018.
It has been remade in Kannada, Odia, Punjabi & Bengali. It will be remade in Telugu,Tamil. ‘Sairat’ was the first Marathi film to cross ₹50 crore mark.The film has become the first Marathi film to gross over ₹100 crore worldwide.
However, this version will be set in Rajasthan. The film follows the story of Madhukar played by Ishaan Khatter,a low-caste young boy, and of Parthavi played by Janhvi Kapoor, a daughter of a rich “upper caste landlord”.
The outline of the film is two young and passionate individuals who make a safe haven of their own when they fall in love. But as their love grew, so did their problems when their families reject their love. Torn between society and families, their fate becomes uncertain but their love stands strong.
The other prominent actors who will be seen in the film will be Aditya Kumar as Parthavi’s brother, Kharaj Mukherjee and Ashutosh Rana a rich upper caste landlord.
The film was announced when the producer of the film, Karan Johar unveiled the poster of the movie on 15 November 2017.
Many people are very eager to watch Dhadak as it will be not only the launch of star kids but also it is the Hindi version of ‘Sairat’. Coming to the Music of the film even the Hindi music is given by composer duo Ajay−Atul. Hence the audience is ready to groove once again on the most famous track called ‘Zingat’ from the Marathi film Sairat.
