Disha Patani has finally bagged a role in Mohit Suri’s next romantic horror comedy ‘Malang’. Prior to Disha, there were reports doing the rounds on social media that Sanya Malhotra will be seen opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in ‘Malang’ but the role has gone to ‘Baaghi 2’ actress. According to a report in DNA, Mohit Suri was impressed with Disha’s dedication and that could be the reason that she has been roped in.
The female leading role in ‘Malang’ is a dancer, hence, Mohit was looking for an actress who can manage both dance steps and action with ease. A source told the publication, “Mohit had spoken to Sanya for the film that had been in the planning for some time. The character is that of a dancer who knows several forms and can also manage action with ease. When he did workshops with Disha, he was bowled over by her dedication and felt she fit the role perfectly. He immediately signed her on for the gritty thriller.”
Talking about the male character in ‘Malang’, it is being played by Aditya Roy Kapur. It is to be noted it would be the second collaboration of Kapur and Suri after their blockbuster film ‘Aashiqui 2’. In a statement to a daily, Mohit said, ”With Malang, I am essentially returning to genre I enjoy the most. It will be intense, edgy and mad. I hope Malang is as thrilling and exciting an experience for the audience to see as much as it has already been for me.”
On the professional front, Disha Patani will next be seen in the Salman Khan-starrer Bharat. The film, also features Katrina Kaif, Tabu and Jackie Shroff, is scheduled to release on an Eid 2019.
