On June 4, ‘Naagin 3’ actor Pearl V Puri was arrested by the Waliv Police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for the alleged rape of a minor girl. Soon after, many of his industry friends like Anita Hassanandani, Karishma Tanna, Aly Goni and many others extended their support to the actor and claimed that the allegations are false and baseless
One of them was Ekta Kapoor who came out in the support of Pearl. Taking to her Instagram handle, she also revealed that she spoke to the victim’s mother on call who confirmed that Puri is innocent. Ekta said that the girl’s father is trying to create stories to prove that a working mother cannot take care of her child.
Ekta also said that she has all the voice notes and messages between the child’s mother and her that claim Pearl’s innocence and also point out that the allegations are false. Ekta has called it ‘absolute low in human depravity’.

According to the Valiv Police Station, the victim’s family had complained that Puri had allegedly molested and raped the girl, around two years ago.
DCP Sanjay Patil told Etimes, “The victim filed FIR in 2019 u/s IPC 376 AB, r/w POCSO Act 4, 8, 12,19, 21 at Waliv and complained that accused Pearl Puri had sexually assaulted victim was then aged 5 yrs. The accused is taken into custody and will be produced today in court.”
An official statement on behalf of Pearl V Puri is yet to be made.
