FIR filed Against Amitabh Bachchan’s KBC 12 Over A Question

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is back as host of popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati. The new season KBC 12 started streaming on September 29. But last weekend an FIR has been filed against Amitabh Bachchan and KBC 12 in Lucknow. The reason being a question asked by Big B to a contestant on the show that has hurt religious sentiments.

A section of the internet is furious with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and the makers of his super successful game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. This is over a question asked during last week’s Karamveer special. It had social activist Bezwada Wilson and actor Anoop Soni as guests. The question was regarding Manusmriti.

For a question worth Rs 6,40,000, Amitabh Bachchan asked Bezwada Wilson and Anup Soni this question. On 25 December 1927, Dr BR Ambedkar and his followers burned copies of which scripture?

Options: (A) Vishnu Purana (B) Bhagavad Gita, (C) Rigdev (D) Manusmriti

The answer was Manusmriti, and the duo got it right.

Big B while announcing the right answer had explained that Dr BR Ambedkar condemned the ancient Hindu text Manusmriti and also burned copies of it. This explanation hurt the feelings of many who took to social media and slammed the actor. They also called out for the boycott of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
