George Floyd’s Six Year Old Daughter. Gianna To Get A Full Time Scholarship

A Minneapolis Police officers brutality killed George Floyd, the incident led to a massive protest by citizens of Houston, in order to bring strict laws for Police’ violence against black community. George funeral was held at his hometown on Tuesday and he laid to rest beside his mothers. As per the latest reports, his six-year-old daughter, Gianna to get a full time scholarship by a renowned administration in Texas.

Gianna has been offered with a full time scholarship for the Texas Southern University, honour of her late father. As she lives in Houston,Texas, she will be continuing her education in her hometown only. The Texas Southern University took to their Facebook handle and made the announcement of their gesture in order to “honor the memory of George Floyd on the day that he is laid to eternal rest.”

Their Facebook post read, “Mr. Floyd was a lifelong citizen of the Third Ward and a revered graduate of Jack Yates High School. The Board, in conjunction with the TSU Foundation Board, has approved a fund to provide a full scholarship for Floyd’s beloved daughter, Gianna.”

George Floyd breathed his last on May 25th, when one of the policemen who arrested him kneeled on his neck for approx 8-9 mins. Apparently, Floyd cried and stated that he wasn’t able to breath. He lost his life to the Police brutality. This incident led to the Black Lives Matter movement, people from several countries including celebs were seen supporting the protest.
