India reports 1,32788 new COVID-19 cases, 2,31456 discharges, and 3207 deaths in the last 24 hrs, as per Health Ministry update. With this, the active cases in India stand at 17,93,645, and the total cases to 2,83,07,832. The nation also recorded 3,000 deaths in the last 24 hours. This took the overall death toll to 3,35,102. Whereas 2,31,456 people were discharged accounting for 2,61,79,085 in total so far.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 35,00,57,330 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till 1 June. Also, 21,85,46,667 doses of vaccine have been given across the country to curb the virus.
As the country battles the second wave of coronavirus, the WHO has said only one strain of the Covid-19 Delta variant first detected in India is now considered of concern.
As per John Hopkins University, The Global Covid-19 caseload has topped 171 million. The death toll has risen to more than 3.55 million,
