Infosys Employee Fired For Asking People To Spread Coronavirus

Coronavirus has become pandemic now and it has spread like a wildfire in most of the countries of the world. Countries like China, Italy, USA and UK among others have witnessed most of the infected cases by the novel virus. The deadly virus has also not spared India and every day new cases of Coronavirus infected patients are reported. Government, medical staff and emergency health workers are trying their best to curb the situation. Also, the government has ordered complete lockdown in the country and asked the people to maintain social distancing.

At this time of crisis, an employee of Infosys asked people to sneeze in public to spread the novel coronavirus. The company has fired him. The person in question is Mujeeb Mohammad. He had posted on Facebook, “Let’s join hands, go out and sneeze with open mouth in public. Spread the virus.” As per PTI, he was arrested on Friday night.

The company tweeted,  Infosys has completed its investigation on the social media post by one of its employees and we believe that this is not a case of mistaken identity.”

In the second tweet, the company wrote, “The social media post by the employee is against Infosys’ code of conduct and its commitment to responsible social sharing. Infosys has a zero tolerance policy towards such acts and has accordingly, terminated the services of the employee.”
