IPL 2021: KKR vs RCB Match Postponed As Covid-19 Crisis Hits IPL

Kolkata Knight Riders players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. Therefore the game between KKR and RCB to be played tonight at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has been postponed. This is the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 that a match is being postponed.

Speaking to ANI a BCCI official confirming the development said that RCB is not quite keen to play with KKR due to the coronavirus cases in the team. As Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive it has made the Royal Challengers Bangalore wary. Therefore the game is all set to be postponed.

This move could come as a big setback for the KKR side who was already languishing in the bottom half of the points table. They are ranked second from the bottom in the points table with two wins from seven matches. RCB on the other hand under the leadership of Virat Kohli has made a strong start in IPL 2021. The team has won five out of seven matches.
