Irrfan Khan passed away at Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital on April 29, 2020. He was hospitalized on Tuesday with a colon infection. The actor had been suffering from Neuroendocrine Tumour a rare form of cancer for long. Although his wife Sutapa Sikdar was rarely seen making a public appearance, she was his pillar of support. A month ago on March 21, Sutapa had changed her Facebook profile picture and put one with Irrfan. This picture is winning the internet.

Irrfan and Sutapa’s love blossomed on the campus of the National School of Drama (NSD). The couple tied the knot in February 1995. They had celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in February 2020. They have two sons Babil and Ayan. Sutapa Sikdar produced ‘Madaari’ and ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ featuring Irrfan Khan.
Irrfan Khan was cremated at the Versova Kabrastan in the presence of family and close friends. His last rites were performed by son Babil and Ayan. Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, who worked with Irrfan in ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, carried the actor’s mortal remains to the cemetery. Sutapa, Vishal Bhardwaj, Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav and Mika Singh were a few people spotted at the funeral held at 3 pm today.
Bollywood celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan condoled the actor’s demise on social media.
