Israeli Shows ‘The Baker and the Beauty,’ ‘The Stylist’ To Be Remade In Indian Version

Isreali comedy-show titled ‘The Beauty and The Baker’ and ‘The Stylist’ will be officially adopted in India. The show has already witnessed its U.S version on ABC. This would be the fourth such licensing deal for the show, whose original version aired on Keshet 12 in Israel. The original Hebrew version can also be watched on Amazon Prime.

According to reports, The Beauty and The Baker and The Stylist are set to be remade in Telugu language by Indian producer Annapurna Studios or in Hindi by Bollywood film-maker and showrunner Goldie Behl via his Rose Audio Visuals banner. The format will be based on the original Israeli series, which is right now in development for a third season in its home market by Keshet 12, reported deadline.com.

Created by Assi Azar, the rom-com show features Victor Rasuk and Nathalie Kelley in the lead role. The story of ‘The Beauty and The Baker’ show revolves around a love story between a simple baker and an international superstar.

In ‘The Stylist’, it narrates a story of a small-town girl, who has huge ambitions and attitude gets her first break in the fashion industry, on to only to discover that her dreams come with a price to pay.

Salman Hussain, Vuclip’s Chief Revenue Officer told news agency IANS, “Our aim has always been to encourage and showcase original and premium content, and Keshet International shares our vision of creating great quality entertainment with local flavour for the audience. This partnership with KI gives us the liberty to bring two highest viewed, prime time shows in Israel to the Indian market.”

Gary Pudney, Keshet International’s General Manager of Asia, added: “We are excited to be partnering with Viu for the very first time and bringing these two engaging romcoms to Telugu and Hindi-speaking audiences in India.”

Indians have already adopted several shows of Keshet such as Bandi Yuddh Ke, which aired on the Star India network, based on the Israeli original drama Hatufim (Prisoners of War) which was adopted in the U.S. as the Emmy-winning Homeland for Showtime. Keshet’s talent show format Rising Star India airs on Viacom’s Hindi entertainment channel Colors.
