Veteran actor Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri better known by his stage name Jagdeep has passed away. The actor who was 81 has breathed his last around 8:40 pm today. Jagdeep was popularly known for playing the role of Soorma Bhopali in Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra starrer ‘Sholay’.
Bollywood celebrities took to social media to pay condolence to the versatile actor cum comedian. Leading them was Ajay Devgn who offered his condolence to the bereft family.
Ajay Devgn tweeted, “Heard the sad news of Jagdeep Saab’s demise. Always enjoyed watching him on screen. He brought so much joy to the audience. My deepest condolences to Jaaved and all members of the family. Prayers for Jagdeep Saab’s soul (sic)”
