J&K : Civilians injured in grenade attack in Shopian district

Grenades were thrown in Batpora area of South Kashmir on Monday in Shopian district. Stones were pelted in the main town of South Kashmir’s Shopian District, just after the incident.

Cops retaliated by firing gunshots. According to reports, some policemen are said to have received splinter injuries in the blast.
Including SHO Shopian and a cop, 10 injuries have been reported.

The attack was confirmed by the DIG Amit Kumar of South Kashmir. He said Police are verifying further details. The troops also fired tear-gas shells force to disperse the protesting youth.
