Kamya Punjabi is an Indian television actress and she is known for her negative roles in the Hindi serials. Punjabi made her television debut with the Star Plus serial, titled, Ssshhhh…Koi Hai. In 2013, she also participated in the controversial show Bigg Boss 7.
Punjabi has has also played positive roles in Piya Ka Ghar, Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak and Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar. Punjabi has also been featured in Bollywood films but for minor roles such as Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Yaadein, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Koi Mil Gaya. In 1997, she was a part of a music video called Mehndi Mehndi and was also part of the music video Kala Shah Kala by Anamika.
Kamya became good friends with television actress Pratyusha Banerjee and after Banerjee’s suicide, Punjabi released a film based on her life and was sued by Banerjee’s former boyfriend.
In 2003, Kamya married to a businessman named Bunty Negi, with whom she has a daughter named Aara. Later the duo got divorced in 2013. After her divorce, she dated television actor Karan Patel but they broke up in 2015 and now In 2019, she is in a relationship with a Delhi-based Shalabh Dang. She met Dang in February this year and after a month of dating, he proposed to her. Kamya Punjabi will be marrying Dang in 2020.
