The nation is celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna today and so are the Bollywood celebrities. This festival celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is the eighth avatar of Vishnu. The festival is celebrated on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in Shraavana of the lunar Hindu Calendar, which often falls in August or September of the Gregorian calendar.

The festival lasts two days and usually consist of prayers, fasting, and preparing special meals as well as performing dance-drama events. Not only the common man but even Celebrities are celebrating the occassion and also tweeting wishes to their fans on social media.
