Krunal Pandya, Deepak Chahar get maiden India call up for England tour

Medium pacer Deepak Chahar and all rounder Krunal Pandya get maiden call up for three match T20 series against England. The duo will replace Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah as both were injured during their short stay at Ireland for the two T20 Internationals.

Jasprit Bumrah got his finger injured trying to catch a ball in the last over of first T20 against Ireland and Washington Sundar had an unfortunate warm up session where he twisted his ankle and got injured to be left out for the T20’s in England.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Krunal Pandya as Washington Sundar’s replacement in India’s T20 International side and Axar Patel in the ODI side for the upcoming limited-overs series against England,” BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said in a statement.

Deepak Chahar had a wonderful IPL 2018 where he clinched 10 wickets in 12 matches along with being economical. He displayed some great swing bowling that intrigued world class batsman while playing for the victorious Chennai Super Kings. On the other hand, Krunal Pandya has been doing great as an all rounder for Mumbai Indians since a long time. He has played some magical innings as well as taken crucial wickets for Rohit Sharma led side in the IPL. His best innings came in IPL 2017 final when he was awarded man of the match for a match saving knock against Rising Pune Supergiant.

India look well set to take on the mighty confident England side. The three match T20 series will commence from third July at Manchester.
