Lady Gaga Reveals Release Date For Her Collaboration With BLACKPINK

Recently, it was confirmed that BLACKPINK will be collaborating with Lady Gaga on her upcoming album Chromatica. Due to the outgoing coronavirus crisis, Gaga had postponed the release. The record was slated for an April 10 release. Now, the singer has officially announced the new release date of her album which is May 29, 2020.

The songwriter also took to her official social media handle to share the release date details, “The journey continues. You can officially join me on #Chromatica on May 29. ⚔️💓,” she tweeted.

The song with BLACKPINK is titled, Sour Candy. On May 4, YG Entertainment confirmed K-pop girl gang’s comeback and released an official statement which read: “Blackpink is scheduled to make a June comeback. Once the exact date has been finalised, we will officially share the news with fans first. Thank you.”

Apart from BLACKPINK, the Bad Romance singer’s upcoming album also features collaborations with Ariana Grande and Elton John. As per the released tracklist, the album will feature 16 tracks. Chromatica will be Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album and features the single ‘Stupid Love,‘ which peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Gaga’s last full-length studio album was 2016′s Joanne. In 2018 she released the soundtrack for A Star Is Born,  which gained her four Grammy Awards as well as an Oscar for the hit song ‘Shallow.’

To recall, BLACKPINK’s video for Ddu-Du Ddu-Du was the first K-pop act to achieve more than a billion views on YouTube and is the highest-charting female K-pop act on both Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200. They are also the first and only K-pop girl group to enter and top Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart
