India Lockdown: Prateik Babbar and Sai Tamhankar in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film

‘Fashion’ director Madhur Bhandarkar announced his new project, in December 2020, ‘India Lockdown’ after three years which is set to be inspired by the ongoing Coronavirus events in the world. The film will go on the floors from next week. The director, earlier, today, revealed the star cast and unveiled the first-look poster of the film.

Sharing the poster of the film, Madhur wrote, “Film India Lockdown is all set to go on floor next week. Here’s a teaser poster. Give your love. @prateikbabbar @SaieTamhankar @AahanaKumra @shweta_official @ShihabZarin #PrakashBelawadi #IndiaLockdown”

‘India Lockdown’ star cast comprises Prateik Babbar, Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra, Ayeesha Aimen and Zarin Shihab in key roles. The film will be produced by Madhur Bhandarkar’s Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures.

Madhur spoke about the movie, and told Bombay Times, “The film is inspired by true events and is set around the first two months of the lockdown (March-April 2020). It has multiple tracks running simultaneously, which revolve around migrant workers, sex workers, businessmen and lonely people. It will essentially deal with poverty and isolation. All of us were holed up in our homes, and for the first few months, we didn’t know what to do with our lives. We were not accustomed to this life. Through the film, I will try to understand what helped us survive.”
