Out of all the states of India, Maharashtra is the most affected one by the novel coronavirus. The government is leaving no stone unturned to flatten the curve, but the positive cases have been rising day-by-day. Today, the state has crossed 3000-mark of confirmed COVID-19 cases. Today 165 fresh cases have been reported. According to the State Health Department, out of 165 new cases, 107 are from Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the plan of action to curb the spread of the virus in his state. The CM took to his Twitter handle and said that with 17 government and 15 private labs, Maharashtra has the highest testing capacity in the country. He also announced setting up a task force to lower the death rate and to treat COVID-19 patients who are ‘critically ill’.
About the migrant workers, the CMO informed in his plan of action that relief camps have been set up all over Maharashtra to give shelters to more than 5 lakh migrant workers. Three meals have been provided daily to 7 lakh labour and homeless and they are also provided medical assistance. Besides, the state has enough stock of essentials and medicines.
