Mahesh Manjrekar Undergoes Surgery For Bladder Cancer

Veteran actor and director Mahesh Manjrekar was reportedly diagnosed with urinary bladder cancer a few days back. His doctors suggested immediate surgery. Manjrekar was operated on at Mumbai’s H N Reliance Foundation Hospital and admitted till recovery.

According to a report by ETimes, Mahesh went through a successful surgery nearly 10 days ago. He remained admitted to the hospital for a few more days.  The stalwart of Marathi cinema is back home now and is recuperating from the operation.

Mahesh has worked as an actor in films like ‘ Kaante’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Wanted’, and ‘Dabangg’ to name a few. His performance as Sonakshi Sinha’s father in Dabangg opposite Salman Khan was highly appreciated by the fans.

Mahesh was also declared as the 2nd Runner-Up in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ in 2006. In 2018, he hosted the first season of ‘Bigg Boss Marathi’.

He has also donned the director’s hat for projects such as, ‘Vaastav: The Reality’, ‘Kurukshetra’, and ‘Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai’ among others. Mahesh’s latest film stars Salman Khan in the lead role alongside Aayush Sharma. The film is titled ‘Antim: The Final Truth’.

Earlier this month, on his 63rd birthday, he announced that his upcoming film ‘White’ will be jointly produced by Sandeep Ssingh and Raaj Shandaliyaa. The makers are aiming to release the film on Dussehra 2022.

Besides that, Mahesh will direct the biopic of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Sawarkar. Titled ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’.
