In a shocking turn of events, Dancer Methil Devika and Malayalam popular actor-politician Mukesh have parted ways after 8 years of their marriage. While talking to the media, she confirmed that she has sent a divorce notice through her lawyer to her husband in Ernakulam.
Devika quoted Mathrubhumi and said: “I have filed the divorce petition. Mukesh didn’t reveal his stance on the matter. The reason behind the divorce is personal. I am going through a tough situation after taking this decision. So I request all to allow me to overcome this peacefully.”
Further, she said: “I’m not interested to defame him. There is no need to connect his personal issues with his life as a politician and actor. I don’t need to part away from him angrily.”
Talking about the domestic violence allegations, she said, “I didn’t raise domestic violence allegations against Mukesh in my divorce petition. I’m not interested to react to political allegations.”
Reportedly, Devika has been residing at her ancestral home in Palakkad over the past few months due to personal differences with Mukesh.
The couple got married on October 24, 2013. Earlier, the celebrity couple was working together at Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi. They also have two sons. However, before marrying Devika, the actor was married to the actress Saritha and got divorced in 2011 due to various accusations.
