Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries sending free oxygen towards India’s COVID-19 aid

Due to the rapid surge in Coronavirus cases in India, the outspread is hailed as the new pandemic wave. India recorded the highest rise ever since the pandemic hit the country with more than 2 lakh single-day infections. Several hospitals from different states have reported having no supply of oxygen, which led to the death of many people. Mukesh Ambani-backed Reliance Industries is sending the oxygen towards COVID-19 aid.

Mukesh Ambani’s twin oil refineries are based in Jamnagar. The industries to now divert their oxygen towards medical use to help in COVID-19 aid in India. It is said 100 tonnes of oxygen will be supplied from the Jamnagar refineries to the oxygen required department and “the supplies will be free of cost since it is for a humanitarian cause,” as per the reports.

For the unversed, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi and few other regions have reported the highest amount of fresh COVID-19 cases. Many states across India have also imposed night curfews and weekend lockdowns in order to curb the new wave of Coronavirus.

As of by Friday i.e April 16, India reported 2,17,353 fresh COVID-19 cases in the span of 24hrs. 1,18,302 discharges and 1,185 deaths as per Union Health Ministry
