Ola Electric will officially launch its highly anticipated electric scooter today(August 15) in India. The makers have named it S1. The electric scooter is being manufactured at the newly built Ola Futurefactory, a 500-acre facility in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. The e-scooter had caused a stir in the market when the bookings for it opened on July 15. It had received over 1 lakh reservations within the first 24 hours of the registration opening in India. Ola has adopted a direct-to-consumer model for the sale of its electric scooter.

Ola Electric has already fully revealed the S1 electric scooter and has teased some of its key features. Today they will showcase a host of details that are yet to be revealed. Information on the official technical specifications, engine output, full range, and also the price.

Price:

The S1 electric scooter is expected it to start somewhere in the range of ₹95,000 to ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom). It is likely to be launched by Ola Electric in two variants – S1 and S1 Pro. Only the former has been officially confirmed yet.

Specification:

Ola e-scooter is expected to be able to run for up to 75km with a 50 per cent charge and 150km when fully charged. Ola is also planning to set up over 100,000 charging points in India. The electric two-wheeler will sport a 3.4kWh battery. The EV will take around 2.5 hours to get fully charged. Other features include a 7-inch touchscreen display with GPS navigation. A 4G connectivity with support for YouTube and voice calling. Users will be able to access their vehicle via a mobile application. It will get an LED headlamp with LED DRL, LED winkers, an LED taillamp, alloy wheels with a single disc each at the front and back tyre. The Ola Electric Scooter will be available in as many as ten colour options.

How To Book:

You can reserve the scooter by paying Rs 499 via net banking, UPI, e-wallets, OlaMoney or credit/debit cards. Buyers can reserve multiple scooters if they want. No documentation is needed to reserve the e-scooter. As per the company’s direct-to-consumer model, Ola Electric will provide customers with doorstep delivery and service.
