Oh My God 2: Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam starrer shoot halted? here’s why

The shooting of the much-awaited sequel of the blockbuster 2012 film, ‘OMG: Oh My God 2′ has been halted after crew members tested positive for COVID-19. The film will star Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautami in the lead roles.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama: “Seven members of OMG 2 have tested positive and producer Ashwin Varde stalled the shoot for two weeks following the development. A unit member had tested positive after which he was immediately sent into home quarantine and other members underwent tests. After the tests came in negative, the shoot resumed. In a matter of two days’ time, three people started to show symptoms. The round of tests was organized and the shoot was put on hold. At the time, six members tested positive.”

However, Yami and Pankaj have tested negative for the deadly virus. The team is expected to resume the shooting by the end of October.

Akshay Kumar will be reprising his role of “Krishna Vasudev Yadav.” The makers are coming up with a unique story that will be centered around the three key characters of Akshay, Yami, and Pankaj.

‘OMG – Oh My God’ is based Kanji Lalji Mehta (Paresh Rawal), a middle-class atheist, owns a shop of Hindu idols and antiques in Mumbai, who makes fun of religious activities and one day, a low-intensity earthquake hits the city, and Kanji’s shop is the only shop that is destroyed. His family and friends blame this on his atheism.
