Priyanka Chopra Jonas is shooting for her upcoming Netflix project, The White Tiger, in the pollution afflicted Delhi. The Sky Is Pink actress shared a picture of her wearing a mask with sunglasses. She expressed concern over the rising levels of pollution in the city. Priyanka also sent a prayer to the homeless that do not have the advantage of air purifiers and masks while urging everyone to be safe.
“Shoot days for #thewhitetiger. It’s so hard to shoot here right now that I can’t even imagine what it must be like to live here under these conditions. We r blessed with air purifiers and masks. Pray for the homeless. Be safe everyone. #airpollution #delhipollution #weneedsolutions #righttobreathe (sic).”
Post Diwali, Delhi air quality has deteriorated with pollution levels 14 times the safe limit. The current pollution levels in Delhi are the highest since November, 2016. Schools have been declared closed till Tuesday by the Delhi Government to ensure student safety.
Last year, Priyanka Chopra faced a similar dilemma when shooting for The Sky Is Pink. Farhan Akthar had taken to twitter to express his concerns at that point of time. He shared a photo of himself with Priyanka wearing masks. The photo caption read, “Masking our emotions in the Delhi air. @priyankachopra your pose is just #bts #prescenereading #theskyispink (sic).”
Priyanka Chopra’s current project, The White Tiger, also features RajKummar Rao. It is an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s novel which went on to win the 40th Man Booker Prize. Netflix is producing the project alongside Mukul Deora. Ramin Bahrani has been roped into direct the venture.
