Rishi Kapoor youngest brother Rajiv Kapoor passes away at 58

Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor’s youngest brother and actor Rajiv Kapoor aka Chimpu passed away earlier today. He was 58.

According to a report in the Times Of India, he passed away due to a heart attack. He was rushed to Inlaks Hospital in Chembur by his brother Randhir Kapoor. As soon as they reached there, the doctor declared Rajiv dead on the arrival. Randhir confirmed the news and said, “I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him.”

At present, Randhir is at the hospital waiting for his brother’s body.

Rishi Kapoor’s wife and actress Neetu Kapoor took to her Instagram handle to offer condolences. Sharing a photo of the actor, Neetu wrote, “RIP 🙏.”

Rajiv Kapoor made his debut in the 1983 film, ‘Ek Jaan Hain Hum’ in which he essayed the leading role in his father’s last directorial venture ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ in 1985. Later, he went on to act in several other films with the most notable being Aasmaan (1984), Lover Boy (1985), Zabardast (1985), and Hum To Chale Pardes (1988). In 1990, he made his last film appearance in ‘Zimmedaar’ after which he turned to producing and directing.
