Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker is all set for his next film. But this time around instead of a period drama it will reportedly be an action film. The movie is being produced by Excel Entertainment and will have Farhan Akhtar in the lead role. Reportedly, Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to play the female lead of the film.
As reported by sources to Peeping Moon, “Ashutosh Gowariker’s film with Farhan Akhtar has been titled Pukar. It’s a contemporary action film set in a forest. It will see Akhtar playing the role of a forest ranger. He will be seen as an officer charged with the patrolling and guarding of a forest. South sensation and De De Pyaar De actress Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to play the female lead. She will start shooting for it after completing Ronnie Screwvala’s Chhatriwali. Gowariker’s film is set to roll in early December in Mumbai.”
Sources further added that veteran South Indian actor Jagapathi Babu will play an antagonist in the film. The actor is quite excited for his Bollywood debut in an Ashutosh Gowariker film. Jagapathi Babu will join the team from the first schedule that begins in December.
Pukar is a special project for Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. It marks the return of his father Javed Akhtar’s as a story and screenplay writer after 15 years. The film is said to have all the elements of action, drama and emotions. Pukar is one of the most prestigious Excel Entertainment projects.
