Ranji Trophy: Karnataka clinch three points after draw against Mumbai

Riding on the back of a crucial first-innings lead, Karnataka earned three points as they played out a draw against Mumbai their Ranji Trophy Group A game.

The 41-time champions had to settle for just one point as they let Karnataka run away with a massive 195-run lead in the first innings, following a poor effort from their batsmen.

Resuming proceedings at 81/3, Karnataka rode on the back of an unbeaten 71 from Krishnamurthy Siddharth. Siddharth had earlier scored a hundred as Karnataka amassed 400 runs in the first innings.

Mumbai, in reply could manage 205 in their first innings.

Karnataka ended their second innings on 170/5 which gave Mumbai a target of 366 runs to win. The domestic cricketing giants then saw 53 runs each from Surya Kumar Yadav and Akhil Herwadkar. Yadav was undefeated as he ended the day for Mumbai with Aditya Tare accompanying in at the crease.
