DeepVeer Wedding: Ranveer and Deepika exchange rings in Konkani style

Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are reportedly now officially engaged as per a Konkani ceremony that is known as Phool Muddi.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are now officially engaged. Yes, the Befikre star has finally exchanged rings with the love of his life in a Konkani style ceremony also known as Phool Muddi ceremony and we are so excited. Though there is no picture out as yet (as the wedding is a closely guarded affair) but as per a report in Bollywood Life, Ranveer and Deepika have already exchanged rings.

For the uninitiated, the Phool Muddi ceremony (which translates to flower ring) usually takes place a day before the wedding or in the morning of the wedding date. In the ceremony, special poojas are held and there is an exchange of turmeric powder and coconuts.

The groom is escorted from his home followed by the bride-to-be’s father who washes his feet and puts a ring on his finger. Post the ceremony, the family celebrates the occasion with some dancing and singing to celebrate the union.

Singer Harshdeep Kaur known for singing ‘Kabira’ from ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ and some other musicians were specially flown to Italy for the sangeet ceremony and she shared a photo of herself along with hubby Mankeet Singh.

As per a report in Bollywood life, Ranveer and Deepika grooved to songs like ‘Mehndi Ni Mehndi’, ‘Dholak’, ‘Kala Shah Kala,’ ‘Mehendi hai rachney wali’. That’s not all! Ranveer also sang ‘Tune Maari Entriyaan’.

Tomorrow is a big day as Deepika and Ranveer will be exchanging their vows in traditional Konkani style. The next day, they will get married in Sindhi style and will be back in the country to host two receptions for family and friends in Mumbai and Bengaluru respectively.
