Ranveer Singh teams up with Shankar for ‘Anniyan’ remake, see post

On Tuesday, Ranveer Singh announced his new collaboration with the Tamil filmmaker S. Shankar and film producer Jayantilal Gada for a Bollywood remake of the 2005 Tamil-language blockbuster ‘Anniyan.’ Later, the film was dubbed into Telugu as ‘Aparichithudu’ and in Hindi, as ‘Aparichit’ which released a year later.

The ‘Gully Boy’ actor shared a photo with Shankar and Jayantilal Gada on his social media handle and wrote as:“Proudly announcing my collaboration with the pioneering visionary of Indian cinema, the maverick master craftsman SHANKAR @shankarshanmugh 🎥💫 powered by veteran film producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada @jayantilalgada @PenMovies 🧿🙏🏽”

Shankar also shared the photo and expressing his excitement, he wrote, “In this moment, no one will be happier than me, bringing back the larger than life cinematic experience with @RanveerOfficial in the official adaptation of cult blockbuster Anniyan. @jayantilalgada @PenMovies”

The story of the film centers on a disillusioned man whose frustration at what he sees as increasing social apathy and public negligence leads to a split personality that attempts to right the system. ‘Anniyan’ was a psychological-thriller, vigilante action-drama, starring Vikram in the lead.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh is currently awaiting the release of his sports-drama film, ’83’ directed by Kabir Khan and also stars his wife-actor Deepika Padukone. Next, he also has Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’, in which he will be seen in a cameo role; ‘Cirkus’, and ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ in the pipeline.
