Bollywood’s veteran actor Rishi Kapoor left for his heavenly abode at 8.45 am today(April 30). The 67-year-old actor passed away in Mumbai after a long battle with cancer. The news of his demise a day after actor Irrfan Khan’s death has left the nation heartbroken. Family and friends consoled his death on social media.
Rishi Kapoor’s daughter, RIddhima Kapoor Sahni took to Instagram to wish him goodbye. Her heart-wrenching post will make you tear up. Sharing a throwback pic with Rishi, Riddhima wrote, “Papa I love you I will always love you – RIP my strongest warrior I will miss you every day I will miss your FaceTime calls every day! Until we meet again papa I love you.”
Riddhima, who is a jewellery designer, lives in New Delhi with her husband, industrialist Bharat Sahni, and daughter. It was initially reported that she wasn’t going to be able to make to Rishi’s funeral due to the nationwide lockdown. But later reports reveal that she has been granted special permission to drive down to the island city. Riddhima will be traveling 1,400 km by road with her husband to attend father Rishi’s funeral. It will take her 18 hours to make the journey by road to Mumbai.
A few minutes ago, Rishi Kapoor‘s wife Neetu Kapoor released a statement about RIshi’s passing away. The statement read, “Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8.45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. The doctors and medical staff said he kept them entertained to the last.”
