Renowned actor, Ronit Roy owns a security service providing firm, Ace Security. The company is also popularly known for providing bodyguards for B-town celebrities. Due to the pandemic outspread the industry was highly affected and celebrity events didn’t take place. The actor reveals that his firm was about to shut amidst the pandemic because of the losses. He reveals that many B-town biggies walked away and only Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar remained intact to help him.
The actor reveals that he couldn’t cut down on staff because they were also in big need for finances to look after their families. And thus Ronit kept them on the roaster. Recently, while talking to the ETimes, he revealed, “Post lockdown in March 2020, I decided to shut down my security agency. My wife Neelam and I sat down and realised that there was a lot happening; some worker’s wife was pregnant, someone’s mother was unwell. I decided to keep them on the roster. As for my clients, the so-called stars, they went away. Only a few, in fact, just two Mr Bachchan and Akshay Kumar stood by me in the lockdown and I am very grateful to them.”
Now that COVID-19 lockdown has eased in Maharashtra and other states, the actor reveals he resumed his business to bring it on track. He reveals requesting all his 119 employees to come back to the company, however, half of them apparently refused. Despite paying his employees, he opens up that the company is suffering decline in 40 per cent cut in employees count.
