Wajid Khan Of Musical Duo Sajid-Wajid Passes Away

Wajid Khan, one half of the famous music duo Sajid-Wajid, has sadly passed away this Monday morning. He was rushed to the hospital after complaining of severe chest pain. The music composer was admitted to the ICU and was reported to have been stable. However, the news of his demise has now broken out. Wajid Khan had been suffering from kidney issues for the past few years. The reason of death is reportedly due to complications from COVID-19. This was stated in a tweet by journalist Faridoon Shahryar. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding this yet.

After receiving the news of his demise, condolences from the Bollywood community have rushed in. Music composer Vishal Dadlani, Salim Merchant, Sonal Kalra, and Harshdeep Kaur were amongst the many to express their grief over the news on social media.

This year has not been a good one so far. We have seen the demise of some remarkable names like Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Yogesh Gaur, and Bejan Daruwala. It has been a year struck with tragedy with the COVID-19 pandemic claiming over 370K lives.

Sajid-Wajid were known for their popular songs. They had worked in collaboration with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for films such as ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Partner’, ‘and Ek Tha Tiger’ among several others. The duo was given their Bollywood break by Salman in his 1998 film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Recently, the two also collaborated with the superstar for his lockdown songs Bhai Bhai and Pyaar Karona.
