Richa Chadha starrer Shakeela is based on the life of spunky South superstar. The Fukrey star plays the titular role of the adult star who worked primarily in South Indian film industries. The makers took to social media to unveil a new poster and also share the release date. The Indrajit Lankesh directorial will hit the theatres on Christmas this year.

The new poster showcases Richa Chadha in a saree with a gun in her hand. Scribbled behind her are a number of abuses in Hindi. They are taunting her for the colour of her skin, her weight and her faith.
Shakeela was born and raised in a conservative Muslim family. She opted for a career in films, aged only 16 and went on to work in more than 250 films. She soon ruled the roost as a leading adult star in the ’90s and early 2000s.
Shakeela also features Pankaj Tripathi and Malayalam actor Rajeev Pillai in pivotal roles. The film is presented and produced by Sammys Magic Cinema Motion Picture Production and distributed by UFO. It is slated for a Christmas release. The Richa Chadha starrer is all set to clash with Gal Gadot’s ‘Wonder Woman 1984’.
