Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has finally put all the speculations and rumours pertaining to her upcoming film to rest. According to Bollywood Bubble, Deepika Padukone will be collaborating with ace filmmaker Karan Johar for a romantic film directed by Shakun Batra.
The announcement of Deepika Padukone’s upcoming Bollywood film came at the opening session of Jio MAMI Movie Mela. Without divulging any information about the film, Deepika said, “I have found a film that I am likely to do early next year but it’s not light. It’s still a messy romance, it’s quite dark but still in the romantic space.”
Notably, Dharma Productions’ in-house director Shakun Batra who has previously directed multiple movies including ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’ for the banner will directing yet untitled film featuring Deepika in the lead role.
According to Bollywood Bubble, Deepika’s upcoming romantic film is likely to go on floors after Meghna Gulzar directed ‘Chhapaak’.
There were several rumours doing the rounds related to her upcoming films including Luv Ranjan’s romantic drama opposite Ranbir Kapoor. However, Deepika seems to have chosen Shakun Bhatra’s film over Luv Ranjan’s romantic drama.
This is the second time Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar are collaborating after Ayan Mukherji’s film, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani‘. It is to be noted that the official announcement of the same is yet to be made.
