Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan may have disappointed with the bat so far in the tour of England but that did not stop him from celebrating his wife’s birthday with a heartwarming post on Twitter on Thursday.

The 32-year-old, who was included in the playing XI ahead of Cheteshwar Pujara in the first Test against England in Edgbaston posted a wedding picture along with a message that read, “Wish u a very happy birthday my Love, have a great one. Thanks for making my life complete. Being d pillar of our family.”

Shikhar and Ayesha tied the knot in 2012 and they have a child together, a boy named Zoravar.

The left-hander who made his India Test debut against Australia in 2013 has so far played 30 matches in the longest format scoring 2,153 runs at an average of 43.94, with seven tons and five half-centuries to his name.

He has, however, been out of touch in the England tour.  In the Twenty-20 series which India won 2-1, Dhawan scored just 19 runs in three matches with an average of 6.33.

It continued in the ODI series as well as he managed only 120 runs in three matches. But has still been picked in the first of the five-match series in England.

Meanwhile, India powered by Ravichandran Ashwin’s four-wicket haul and Mohammad Shami’s three scalps restricted England to 289 in the first innings. In reply, India is currently struggling at 160/6 with 20-year-old Sam Curran accounting for four of those including the wicket of Dhawan (26) who after stitching a 50-run stand with fellow opener Murali Vijay, followed him to the pavilion.

Virat Kohli is the top scorer of India with 53 runs from 102 balls, which includes nine hits to the fence.
