Indian cricket board chief Sourav Ganguly has been discharged today morning from Appolo hospital in Kolkata. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President was hospitalised on Wednesday for the second time in a month due to his cardiac condition. On Thursday, he underwent a second angioplasty to clear his clogged coronary arteries. Two more stents were implanted during the surgery conducted by a team of doctors.
Ganguly is understood to be in a stable condition after he underwent a second angioplasty and has been advised for complete rest for a couple of weeks.
Speaking to NDTV sources said, “Mr Ganguly is doing fine and his heart is as strong as a normal person. He had an uneventful recovery and we are hopeful that within the next couple of days, he will be able to return to normal life.”
He added that the former India captain is required to follow a strict routine and needs to be on medication for a few months.
The former India captain had suffered a mild heart attack earlier this month. He was diagnosed with Triple Vessel Disease and soon underwent an angioplasty procedure. A stent was inserted into one of the blocked arteries to remove the blockage.
Ganguly had spent about five days in the hospital before being discharged on 7 January.
