SP Balasubrahmanyam tests negative for COVID-19, son SP Charan confirms

The latest update on the veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam’s health is that he has finally tested negative for the novel coronavirus, however, he continues to remain on a ventilator, confirms his son SP Charan. The singer had hospitalized on August 5, 2020, at Chennai’s MGM Healthcare.

In the video, SP can be heard saying, “We were expecting dad’s lungs to improve, as they were, to a certain point where we could remove the ventilator. Unfortunately, we are still not at that. But the good news is dad is Covid negative. We are expecting the lungs to heal fast.”

“We are expecting the lungs to heal fast. Over the weekend, we did have a small celebration for mom and dad for their anniversary. Dad is watching a lot of cricket and tennis on his Ipad. He’s happy that the seasons have started. He’s looking forward to IPL. He’s writing and communicating a lot,” he added.

Lastly, SP Charan express gratitude to everyone for their love and prayers and urged them all to keep the hope alive with their prayers.

On August 14, the veteran singer’s health deteriorated and he had to be shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and put on a ventilator. Celebrities like Rajinikanth,  A R Rahman, Kamal Haasan, and many other people have been praying for the singer’s speedy recovery.
