SP Balasubrahmanyam Honoured With The Prestigious Padma Vibhushan Posthumously

With an heavy heart we bid an adieu to the legendary singer, SP Balasubrahmanyam last year. He lost his life due to the complications in his treatment after he had tested positive for the Coronavirus. The recipient of the Padma Shri (2001) and the Padma Bhushan (2011) has been now conferred the Padma Vibhushan posthumously.

SP Balasubrahmanyam has contributed greatly in the field of Indian Cinema. Over the career of five decades, he bagged around six National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer and 25 Nandi Awards. He also held a Guinness World record for singing over 40,000 songs. Most importantly, the legend was known for mesmerizing everyone with his singing talent.

Pehla Pehla Pyar Hai (Hum Aapke Hai Koun), Dil Deewana (Maine Pyar Kiya), Bahut Pyar Karte Hai (Saajan) are among the remarkable songs crooned by the SP Balasubrahmanyam. He gave us some of the heartfelt songs.

Last year on August 5, Balasubrahmanyam was rushed to the hospital after he complained about chest pain and issue in breathing. He was then diagnosed with COVID-19. He was kept under ventilator for over a week. He breathed his last on September 25, 2020.
